Tunnel Ventilation Equipment Inspections

FanTR performs periodic inspections of equipment installed in tunnels to assess the operating conditions of fans, control systems, and associated components, helping ensure safe and efficient operation over time.

Inspection Process

Before work begins, FanTR's technical team plans the inspection together with the customer, taking into account tunnel characteristics, equipment location, and applicable safety requirements.

The inspection process may include the following steps:

• Inspection planning and definition of the equipment to be evaluated;
• Scheduling of traffic interruption or restriction within the inspection area;
• Work area signage, isolation, and lockout procedures;
• Implementation of safety procedures required by the customer and tunnel operation;
• Positioning of aerial work platforms to provide safe access to fans and elevated components;
• Visual, structural, mechanical, electrical, and operational inspections;
• Verification of fans, control systems, supports, connections, and associated components;
• Assessment of wear, corrosion, vibration, damage, or performance changes;
• Photographic documentation of observed conditions;
• Work area release and traffic restoration upon completion of the inspection.

Inspection Results

Upon completion of the work, the customer receives a technical report containing a record of the identified conditions, photographic evidence, and recommendations for maintenance, corrective actions, component replacement, or required system upgrades.
