01 – Repair procedure for blade surface damage - gel coat

In this video, Lairton Bitencourt, FanTR Industrial Engineer Coordinator, will teach how to repair damage on the gel coat of a composite blade. It is important to check before the repair that only the gel coat is damaged and that no fiber layers have been affected.

  • Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide 33% Catalyst (MEKP)
  • Grinder with Abrasive Disc No.24
  • Sandpaper # 100

  • Masking tape
  • Flexible Plastic Spatula
  • Paint Roller
  • Measuring Tape and Pen
  • Graduated glass becker and syringe
  • Polypropylene (PP) jars - resistant to MEKP
